About
Who we are
We’re a fully remote team working on various different projects using technology to help others.
Per our governing document, our aims are to study and practice modern Japanese music culture, including the sub-culture of vocal synthesisers, in order to grow the public knowledge and appreciation of it outside Japan. We host public performances and promotional vocalsynth musical events worldwide. We contribute back to the vocalsynth and communities we perform in as well as the wider environment through our activities.
Not only this, but we also assist other organisations with similar aims. Currently, we've been working with RAKUEVENTS on their RakuCon convention by powering the audio visual setup in their theatre.

Promises
Sustainable
We aim to protect the environment in everything we do, from buying and repairing used goods to choosing eco-friendly methods and products.
Unique
Each event that we work on is fully unique, none is like the other. We aim to try and do something different each time, and learn as we go along.
Comfy
All of our events are designed to be as comfortable as possible, with a friendly atmosphere. We endeavour to make our events as safe and accessible as possible.
Legal
Keeping VOCAWAVES legal is a major concern. That’s why we’ve highlighted this section.
We operate in line with the UK Government’s guidelines for operating as an “Unincorporated Association”, also known as a club or a group, which we deem to be the closest term to a “doujin circle” in Japan.
This allows us to apply for certain utilities such as a bank account without stepping over individual use rules by becoming a corporate entity.
Before using any characters or assets, we thoroughly examine the license terms and conditions provided by the copyright holder. When we have any doubts, we have contacted them to ask for confirmation. That’s why we can ensure that VOCAWAVES is fully legal as an individually ran project.
We do not occur any personal profit, and any money obtained from our donation pages such as Liberapay or tickets for events is stored separately and used solely for venue hire fees, equipment, insurance or commissions.
Our constitution, financial documents and other governing or guideline documents are entirely public for transparency purposes.
We take event security into great care and not only do we test all equipment used via recommended methods, we also ensure events are as safe as possible.
If you have any queries, do not hesitate to contact us. Please do not bother any copyright holders, as they are not affiliated with us and are already aware of our activities.
